Does Norvado sell customer data?
On April 3, 2017, the Senate Joint Resolution 34 was signed into law nullifying the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) rule titled “Protecting the Privacy of Customers of Broadband and Other Telecommunication Services.” This new law will allow Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and other telecommunications providers to use and sell their customers’ web browsing history and other data. However, Norvado will not be doing that.
We are retaining our policies regarding customers’ privacy and data – we have not and will not sell any of it including personal web data, browsing history or related web behavior data. As a cooperative, our customers’ data and privacy are extremely important to us. Selling either of these simply because we can would not be right. Norvado’s Board of Directors and our management team are not willing to compromise the trust of our customers or the values of our cooperative.
Our “opt-out” policy will also remain the same, meaning we will not use a customer’s data to target market to him/her. Our subscribers can “opt-out” at any time by contacting our Customer Service Representatives at 800-250-8927.
