How do I use Google Home with my TV?

Always losing your remote? Now you can skip the remote and use Voice Activation with your Google Home device to request a channel change, search for programming, and more.

Use the following steps to set up the Channel Surfer skill on your Google Home device and use Voice Activation to take your TV experience to a new level.

  1. Load the Channel Surfer into your skills of the Google Home App.
  2. Click on the Channel Surfer Skill and then click Enable. Here you will link your Google Home account with the Channel Surfer account.
  3. On your TV, click Menu and arrow down to Settings. Arrow right to Apps and then over to Device Code and press OK. Copy the Registration Code into the Google Home App and click Submit.

Change to a channel number

“Hey Google, ask Channel Surfer to tune to channel XXX”

“Hey Google, ask Channel Surfer to find (TV program name)”

“Hey Google, ask Channel Surfer to resume”

“Hey Google, ask Channel Surfer to skip ahead 4 minutes”

“Hey Google, ask Channel Surfer to skip back 30 seconds”
