Norvado TV | Releasing updated Norvado TV to Amazon Appstore Firmware 24.1.12
The new Amazon Firestick firmware, 24.1.12, will be available November 19, 2023. Below are some of the changes the new
firmware will be fixing or improving. Your Firestick will automatically
update your Norvado TV app.
24.1.12
CARs
- Added protections around updating the
watched-channel list to detect and handle null watched-channel object content.
(64776)
- Now handles cases where the Program Info object type
is "up-next". Allows programs with this status to be played if they
are airing now. (64686)
- Removed button navigation focus-next properties.
Fixes recording navigation issue on old Fire TV models. (64367)
PARs
- Fixed a focus issue in the For You UI where the app
thinks the Weather row is the first row in the UI. (64781)
- Added some additional null checks for
mSrvAreaChannelMapId.
- While reading the circular buffer for log messages
to send in InnovSys, if we hit an exception, now breaks out of the loop.
- Supports new Google requirements for Android TV app
graphics.
- Moved Fire TV startup splash and login UI progress
circle from the top of the UI to the bottom. Also removed the progress text
(e.g. Loading...).
- Handles (ignore) initial EAS messages where the
Time Remaining value is 0. (63871)
- Now downloads recordings from the cDVR in the
correct whole-home group. (63762)
24.1.7
CARs
- Fixed issue where, after leaving the app running
for an extended time (e.g. pressing Home button to leave app), the selected
favorite channels would be erased. (63224)
- Now displays the correct temperature units for
Canadian weather stations ("C"). (62828)
- Implemented fixes to VOD poster URL creation when
the VOD InnoStream is different than the middleware InnoStream. (62771)
- Fixed crash when displaying program details UI for
recording from a deleted channel. The recording info can now be displayed and
the recording played. (62311)
- Fixed crash when the request to get weather station
list returned an error from the InnoStream. (61019)
- Updated Future recordings and Upcoming recordings
lists in the UI when a Series Rule is deleted. (60908)
- Fixed the expansion of the guide to cover
additional time in the future as the time progresses while the app is open. Now
allows more than 2 days of guide data to be retrieved from the server as part
of the extending guide time while the app is running. Guide will now
expand/move with time-of-day as the app remains open. (56236)
PARs
- Fixed updating playback UI program info at program
boundary when time-shifted. If we are more than 1 minute behind program
real-time, it will postpone the update of the program information. Will check
again in 20 seconds if we should update the playback UI program information.
(62386)
- Fixed channel-stats issue caused by use-device
renew without channel number. This caused the InnoStream to reduce the number
of devices watching the same channel by one. Now, when viewing live TV (live or
Restart), the channel number is included in the initial and re-new use-device
requests. (62302)
- Added Service Reference and User to FireTV log
header. (61029)
- The grey background image used in the For You UI
had a resolution of 3840x2160. This seemed to cause loading issues on some
FireTV devices. Changed the background image resolution to 1280x720.
- Fixed release build and updated rules so minifier
doesn't remove needed classes. Updated build script to work with flamingo and
new Gradle. Added changes for move to Gradle v8 plugins.
- Removed unneeded version checks from the Main Menu
construction.
- Added cross-fade transition to program poster
changes as the user is navigating grid guide. Fade now does not occur when
moving to a poster that is in glide's memory cache.
- Added the current playing program into the playback
program info guide UI. This allows the user to see more information about that
playing program than is available in the playback controls UI. This matches
Roku and AppleTV behavior when displaying programs in the playback program UI.
- Now uses a dark background image for all menu UIs
except the For UI and grid guide UIs.
- Startup enhancements - Delays call for IPTV
settings to later in the startup processing as the migration-complete flag is
no longer needed. Cached InnoStream packages so they don't have to be
downloaded during app startup. Moved HLS Packager Settings to later in startup.
- Now clears card-poster URL when initializing
ProgramInfo from protobuf. This fixes an issue where the ProgramInfo can hold
an old card-poster URL for a prior program.
- Fixed handling changing channels when favorites
filter is enabled but there are no favorite channels configured.
- Fixed VOD playback buttons for rented assets when
selected from the asset list (not rented list). When selecting a rented asset
from the asset list (not the Rented list), it will correctly show the Resume
and Start-Over buttons. When renting a new asset (e.g. via Watch Free button),
then returning to the VOD details page after playback, only the Start-Over
button is available. The user cannot Resume from here. The user must back out
at least one VOD level and return, then Resume is available. (57962)
- For You UI updates progress for currently airing
programs when the UI is displayed.
- Handles spurious exception in log sender.
- Encrypted some URLs printed in log messages.
- Changed expiring date in details to note if the
delete date is "today". Sort expiring recordings by expire-time
ascending.
- Fixed an issue that occurs when playing an expiring
recording via the details UI and recording to the Recordings UI.
- Changed ProgramInfoCache to a ConcurrentHashMap to
fix crash due to concurrency issues.
- Fixed recording VOD last position when playback
stops.
- Added additional logging when selecting the VOD
server from config data.
- Added initial code for future ability to select
audio tracks.
