SmartHome | Arlo App Subscription Plans & Cloud Recording Options

An Arlo Secure subscription (included with all Norvado Smart Home Surveillance packages) enables you to record in 2K or 4K video resolution, activate advanced object detection, create cloud activity zones, respond to emergencies, and much more. This provides a flexible and customizable experience for your Arlo system.

An Arlo Safe subscription offers expanded use of Arlo’s personal safety app for total protection and peace of mind. You will receive additional features such as Cloud Witness™ Incident Recording, Crash Detection & Response, 24/7 Personal Safety Expert, Family Place Alerts, Family Check-Ins, and Family Safety Monitoring.

Note: Arlo Safe is only available in the United States.


Safe & Secure Pro Plan

The Safe & Secure Pro Plan combines all the features of the Arlo Safe Family Plan with the Arlo Secure Plus Plan and also includes Professional Monitoring. The Arlo Safe & Secure Pro Plan is available in the United States only.

Arlo Secure (included with Norvado Smart Home Surveillance)

With an Arlo Secure plan, you can record to the Arlo cloud with up to 2K video resolution (4K in United States) on a single camera or multiple cameras. Your clips save to the Arlo library for up to 30 days after recording.

Note: Unlimited camera support plans apply only to Arlo cameras at a single residential location and on the same Arlo account.


Arlo Secure Plus

With a Secure Plus subscription, you can record to the Arlo cloud with up to 4K video resolution on multiple cameras. Your clips save to the Arlo library for 30 days after recording.   • Emergency Response is available in the US only.

  • Unlimited camera support plans apply only to Arlo cameras at a single residential location and on the same Arlo account.

  • Due to hardware limitations, Arlo Ultra cameras cannot stream to the cloud in 2K and simultaneously record locally in quality higher than 2K. However, Arlo Ultra can simultaneously stream to the cloud and locally in 4K.


No Plan

When the trial that was included with your camera purchase ends, you have the option to purchase an Arlo Secure or Arlo Secure Plus plan to continue using features like cloud recording. You can also choose not to have a service plan.

Note: All Norvado Smart Home Surveillance packages include an Arlo Secure subscription.


Arlo Safe

Arlo Safe is a personal safety app for total protection and peace of mind with one-touch emergency activation on your phone. If you ever feel in danger, are involved in a car accident, or want to check in with a family member, help is there.

Note: Arlo Safe is only available in the United States.

Arlo Safe offers a Free Plan, an Individual Plan, a Family Plan, and the Safe & Secure Pro Plan. The ability to automatically notify emergency contacts is offered for free. Note: Your Arlo account can utilize either Monthly or Annual Arlo Secure plans, but not both at the same time. This applies to all Arlo Secure plans and all Locations under a single Arlo account.


CVR – 24/7 recording

Some Arlo cameras are capable of recording non-stop to the Arlo cloud when plugged in to AC power. To enable your Arlo cameras to record 24/7, you need to purchase a CVR plan for each Arlo camera.
