What is Norvado’s Position on Net Neutrality?

What is net neutrality? Why does it matter?

Net neutrality is the principle that internet providers must treat all data on the Internet the same and not discriminate or charge different rates depending on the user, website, content, application, equipment, or method of communication.  In 2015, strong net neutrality rules were enforced from the US Federal Communication Commission (FCC). The rules have prohibited Internet providers from blocking, throttling, and paid prioritization—”fast lanes” for sites that pay, and slow lanes for everyone else.

At Norvado, we support net neutrality, freedom of speech.

Norvado is committed to an open and free internet and hereby will continue to uphold and maintain an internet policy adherent to the Net Neutrality rules under the Open Internet Order, which was passed in 2015 and reclassified broadband internet service under Title II of the Communications Act.

It is our pledge to customers and residents of our service area that:

  • Norvado does not block access to lawful content.

  • Norvado does not throttle the speed of the content you consume.

  • Norvado does not prioritize internet traffic or create paid fast lanes.

  • Norvado will continue to make the internet more accessible to the members of our service area.
