Why are channels 18 and 218 blacked out?
Effective Monday, February 17, 2020 ABC (WQOW) channels 18 and 218 began experiencing required blackouts. WDIO, the ABC broadcaster out of Duluth, exercised contract rights that require us to black out several time slots of other ABC stations' programming. These time slots are as follows:
7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
5:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
10:35 p.m. - 12:07 a.m.
1:07am - 5:00 a.m. (Sunday night/Monday morning through Thursday night/Friday morning)
7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
5:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.
9:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
5:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
