Am I required to have a UPS/BBS?
If you do not need to keep telephone, internet or television services active during a power outage for personal or business reasons, then a Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and Battery Backup System (BBS) may not be necessary.
However, if you wish to maintain these services when the power goes out, you will need the UPS/BBS as well as a non-cordless, hardwired telephone or WIFI router that doesn’t require power.
